This work centers the often-overlooked labor and sacrifice of Mexican Americans and their critical and foundational role in America’s history. Using metaphors of seeds, the home, and growth to evoke the agricultural origins and the enduring impact of labor in shaping the nation.
The complex histories embedded within the cotton and flag, invite reflection on whose efforts and sacrifices remain woven into the fabric of American identity.
